Job summary

South Coast Community Services is seeking a Family Specialist to build strength-based relationships with children and provide case management and behavioral coaching. The role supports families across home, school, and community settings as part of the Family Wrap program.

You will collaborate with schools and county representatives, coordinate transportation, and maintain compliant documentation while actively participating in team-based treatment planning.

Qualifications

• AA or Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
• 2 years of experience in working with youth in a mental health or social service setting.
• Valid CA driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
• CPR/First Aid/ProACT certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the child in the home, school, and community by providing supportive and case management services.
• Recognize and reinforce positive behaviors, activities, and skills exhibited by the youth.
• Ensure sensitivity to family culture, values and beliefs, and operate from a family-centered, strength-based perspective.
• Support youth in learning essential skills to interact harmoniously with adults and peers.
• Provide transportation to youth for academic, social, recreational, and employment activities.
• Maintain proficient and accurate documentation adhering to program, contract, and payer standards.
• Work with the client’s multidisciplinary team and external agencies in treatment planning.
• Develop knowledge of community resources to assist families.
• Serve on committees, lead trainings, and represent the program as needed.
• Perform other related duties as required.
