Job summary

The Alden Network in Aurora, IL seeks a Nursing Supervisor to lead wound care services for residents with ostomies, wounds and related conditions. You will supervise nursing staff, ensure protocol adherence, and coordinate with physicians to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires an IL RN or LPN license, CPR certification, and strong leadership, communication, and elder-care experience. Proactive management and QA participation are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold an unencumbered IL RN or LPN license.
• CPR certificate required within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
• Interest/experience in elder care and wound care.
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to interact tactfully with patients, families and staff.
• Demonstrates leadership and supervisory ability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all nursing procedures follow established policies.
• Directly supervise nurses, CNAs and IDT members in wound care.
• Oversee wound care protocols and documentation accuracy.
• Administer or assist wound treatments as ordered by the physician.
• Review orders for completeness and transcription accuracy.
• Review wound assessments for completeness and accuracy.
• Educate facility staff on pressure ulcer prevention.
• Coordinate with physicians during wound care rounds.
• Assist in wound specimen collection as ordered.
• Participate in facility QA and wound audits.
