Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking an experienced RN or LPN in Illinois to lead wound care services, supervise the wound care team, and ensure adherence to protocols for patients with ostomies and other wounds.

You will assess wound status, document findings, coordinate with physicians, and educate staff on prevention and treatment. A strong emphasis is placed on leadership, patient-centered care, and collaboration with the IDT.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in Illinois.
• CPR certificate or able to obtain within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledge of nursing and wound care practices and procedures.
• Interest and/or knowledge in aged care.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when required.
• Ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, staff, and the public.
• Leadership and supervisory ability.
• Personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful attitude.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise nurses, CNAs, and other IDT members to ensure wound care protocols are followed.
• Assess and document wound status and skin care; administer or assist with wound treatments as ordered.
• Review treatment orders for accuracy and complete transcription.
• Maintain wound assessments and complete weekly skin reports.
• Educate facility staff on pressure ulcer prevention and wound care.
• Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic services for wound care as ordered by physician.
• Update family and attending physician on changes in wound assessment.
• Participate in developing and evaluating written care plans for each patient.
• Lead in-service education programs and participate in quality assurance for wound care.
