Auburn University Montgomery (AUM) is seeking tutors to work on campus in the Learning Center or Instructional Support Lab, providing academic support to students in their major area. Tutors meet with students in person or online, guiding note-taking and study strategies and acting as academic coaches to foster resource independence.
Tutors use TracCloud for post-session notes, keep spaces clean, schedule appointments when needed, and perform duties assigned by the supervisor.
Tutors work shifts on campus in either the Learning Center or Instructional Support Lab. They meet with students in person or online to provide academic support to AUM’s students in their major area. They provide guidance, demonstrate with examples, and model effective note-taking, study, and test-taking techniques. Tutors also function as academic coaches by encouraging students and helping them learn how to access resources independently. Tutors utilize the appointment scheduling tool TracCloud for the purpose of entering post-session summary notes for professors. Tutors are responsible for sanitizing their in-person work stations, scheduling appointments in the absence of a front desk worker, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Applicant must be a currently-enrolled graduate or undergraduate student at AUM, with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
Tutors must be strong communicators who are patient and compassionate. Desired qualifications also include strong time management and organizational skills.
