Role Description The Workers Compensation Defense Attorney will handle a caseload of workers’ compensation matters from inception through resolution, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, and trial or settlement. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings and legal documents, conducting legal research, advising clients on case strategy and risk, and representing clients at hearings, depositions, and mediations. The attorney will collaborate with colleagues, claims professionals, and clients to develop effective defense strategies and negotiate favorable outcomes. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, requiring regular in-person interaction with team members, clients, and adjudicatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law with demonstrated experience in Workers’ Compensation Defense practice.
• Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients, including risk assessment and strategy recommendations.
• Proficiency in Research to analyze case law, statutes, and administrative rules relevant to workers’ compensation matters.
• Effective Negotiation skills for resolving claims, mediating disputes, and achieving favorable settlements.
• Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the state bar.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, including drafting pleadings and presenting arguments at hearings.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and client communications.
• Prior experience in insurance defense or employer-side representation is highly beneficial.
