Job summary

Travelers Companies, Inc. seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation claims professional to manage claims from discovery to closure. You will evaluate coverage, determine compensability, and coordinate with medical case managers to return workers to work with appropriate treatment.

The role requires strong investigation, negotiation, and settlement skills, with attention to regulatory compliance and file quality across moderate complexity claims.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; WC knowledge beneficial.
• 1 year Workers' Compensation claim handling experience or completion of WC trainee program.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to negotiate and resolve claims.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations to determine compensability and policy coverage.
• Establish and update reserves reflecting claim exposure and rationale.
• Identify and set actuarial reserves.
• Coordinate with Medical Case Manager for treatment and return-to-work.
• Manage files with timely contact, proper documentation, and proactive resolution.
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority and pursue resolution opportunities.
• Collaborate with medical/legal specialists to pursue structured settlements and discontinuation of benefits.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare Set Asides and state filings within limits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
