Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Worker’s Compensation Referral Coordinator to facilitate referrals, coordinate medical scheduling, and maintain high patient confidentiality in a fast-paced medical office.

The role requires at least one year of appointment scheduling experience in a medical setting, knowledge of workers' compensation processes, and strong computer skills with Excel, Word, and Outlook. You will interact with adjusters, physicians, staff, and patients to ensure timely care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One-year experience in appointment scheduling, preferably in a medical setting.
• Medical office experience; knowledge of workers' compensation processes.
• Knowledge of physician billing processes (1010A’s and 1009’s); computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage referrals for LOS physicians; initiate approval with workers' compensation agency/third party; register patients and schedule appointments.
• Communicate with adjusters, patients, attorneys, physicians and staff to clarify referrals.
• Strive to schedule appointments immediately after referral approval; escalate for urgent cases as needed.
• Obtain medical records prior to appointment or to obtain provider approval prior to scheduling.
• Support quality patient care, patient satisfaction, and treatment compliance.
• Assist workers’ compensation coordinators as needed and per availability.
• Answer and handle incoming workers’ compensation calls.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
