Job summary

Center for Bone & Joint Surgery of the Palm Beaches is seeking a Legal/Worker's Compensation Scheduler to manage workers' compensation workflows, schedule patient appointments, obtain initial visit and therapy authorizations, and coordinate with carriers.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of medical billing experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to maintain records and respond to inquiries.

Qualifications

• One year medical billing or medical business office experience in a physician office or hospital.
• Worker’s Compensation experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Reviews worker’s compensation accounts and forms for accuracy and completeness.
• Takes inbound calls from patients and insurance to set up patient charts and schedule appointments.
• Obtains authorizations for initial visits, surgeries, and physical therapy.
• Maintains all records and reports.
• Interacts with claims adjustors to verify patient’s work status and scheduled appointments.
• Communicates guidelines and policies in writing and verbally.
