Travelers is seeking an Associate Counsel in California to handle a caseload of lower-complexity litigation matters under the mentorship of senior lawyers. The role focuses on proactive case handling, persuasive writing, and strategic analysis for insured clients.

Ideal candidates will have 1–3 years of litigation experience, strong oral advocacy, and proficiency with legal research tools. A JD and active license to practice law in the applicable state are required. Local travel may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of lower complexity matters from inception through trial and appeal.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other documents under supervision.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments with supervising counsel.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners on file handling strategy.
• Build and maintain strong client and business partner relationships.
