Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Associate Counsel for Workers' Compensation in a hybrid California setting (Diamond Bar, Anaheim, Eastvale, Orange, Woodland Hills). You will handle lower-complexity matters under senior lawyers, developing litigation and negotiation skills, while advising insured clients and claim partners.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of litigation experience, strong writing and research abilities, and a JD with an active license.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate and active license to practice law in applicable state(s).
• 1–3 years of litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills with proficient legal research.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and develop knowledge on applying effective litigation/negotiation skills.
• Conduct legal research and demonstrate effective and persuasive legal writing and presentation skills.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other documents under supervision.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments under supervision of experienced counsel.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners on file handling strategy.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external client and business partner relationships.
• Utilize case management systems and automation to manage workflow.
• Travel as required to meet business needs.
