• Design, build, and deploy Workday dashboards and reporting solutions to support HR, leadership, and business stakeholders.
• Review, audit, and clean up existing custom Workday reports to improve efficiency, accuracy, and maintainability.
• Analyze current reporting inventory and identify opportunities for consolidation and standardization.
• Develop advanced custom reports using Workday Report Writer and Calculated Fields.
• Create and optimize matrix, composite, advanced, and trend reports.
• Partner with HRIS and business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, reporting consistency, and adherence to Workday best practices.
• Document report specifications, security considerations, and knowledge transfer materials.

The consultant will be responsible for creating Workday dashboards, reviewing and cleaning up existing custom reports, optimizing report performance, and recommending reporting best practices. Candidates should have 6+ years of hands-on Workday reporting experience, including expertise in Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Advanced/Matrix/Composite Reports, Discovery Boards/Dashboards, and Workday reporting security. The ideal candidate can work independently, engage with stakeholders, and quickly deliver high-quality reporting solutions and documentation.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Workday Report Writer Consultant to support a short-term HRIS project focused on enhancing Workday reporting capabilities. The consultant will be responsible for creating executive and operational dashboards, reviewing and optimizing existing custom reports, improving report performance and usability, and ensuring reporting solutions meet business requirements across HR and leadership teams.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Workday Reporting, Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Discovery Boards, Dashboards, and Workforce Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Strong expertise in:

• Workday Security related to reporting
• Experience performing large-scale report audits and report optimization initiatives.
• Strong understanding of HR, HCM, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, and Organizational data structures within Workday.
• Proven ability to work independently and deliver project outcomes within tight timelines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting HRIS teams in large or complex organizations.
• Familiarity with Workday Prism Analytics and Workforce Analytics.
• Workday certification(s) in Reporting or HCM preferred.
• Experience developing reporting governance and reporting inventory management processes.
• Creation of new Workday dashboards for key HR and leadership metrics.
• Audit and cleanup of existing custom reports.
• Optimization and documentation of report catalog.Recommendations for reporting governance and best practices.
• Knowledge transfer to the HRIS team upon project completion.
