As a Workday Payroll Technical Architect at Sophus Info in Massachusetts, United States (Remote), you will take full ownership of designing and delivering robust, scalable Workday integration solutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass developing complex inbound and outbound integrations using EIB and Workday Studio, configuring Workday APIs and Web Services, and executing end-to-end data conversions and migrations. You will troubleshoot failed data loads and integration runs, perform rigorous Workday-to-external-system reconciliations, and provide technical and functional team leadership across enterprise deployments. Working in a fast-paced client-facing environment, you will facilitate executive workshops, review integration architectures, and ensure strict compliance with payroll security and data governance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, develop, and test complex Workday Payroll integrations and enterprise data solutions.
- Build sophisticated inbound and outbound integration interfaces utilizing Workday EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder).
- Develop advanced, custom integrations and multi-step data transformations using Workday Studio.
- Configure, consume, and secure Workday APIs and Web Services across internal and external applications.
- Execute comprehensive data conversion, data migration, and legacy system cutover strategies for Workday deployments.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve failed data loads, integration exceptions, and runtime errors.
- Perform meticulous Workday-to-external-system reconciliation audits to ensure financial accuracy and data integrity.
- Provide technical and functional team leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior integration developers.
- Lead executive and client-facing stakeholder communications, status briefings, and technical architecture workshops.
- Ensure strict adherence to enterprise security baselines, payroll compliance regulations, and project delivery deadlines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of professional IT experience with extensive specialization as a Senior Workday Technical Architect.
- Deep specialized expertise in Workday integration technologies, specifically focusing on Workday Payroll integrations.
- Hands-on professional proficiency building and deploying EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) and Workday Studio solutions.
- Strong technical knowledge of Workday APIs, Web Services, XML, XSLT, SOAP, and RESTful integration protocols.
- Proven experience managing complex inbound/outbound data conversions, migrations, and reconciliation frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve failed integration loads and production system errors.
- Strong technical and functional team leadership capabilities alongside exceptional executive-level client communication skills.
