Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Information Technology is seeking an Applications Systems Specialist I (Temporary) to support and back up the Lead Workday Integration Specialist for a large, multi‑module Workday program.

You will guide integrations, reporting, data conversions, and testing across a statewide environment, coordinating with technical teams and ensuring governance and security standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT or related field with four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development.
• Or an Associate degree with five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development.
• Or GED with eight years of experience in business application consulting or development.

Responsibilities

• Lead Workday technical strategy across a multi-module statewide environment.
• Oversee Workday integration design and delivery using Boomi, EIB, and Web Services.
• Coordinate end-to-end testing cycles with SMEs and ensure robust test coverage.
• Direct Workday reporting and analytics development to meet business needs.
• Manage Workday data conversion strategy and execution across conversion cycles.
• Provide escalation support for complex Workday technical issues and troubleshoot integration failures.
• Coordinate cross-functional Workday technical teams for cohesive delivery.
• Develop and maintain Workday technical documentation including specs and mappings.
• Ensure governance alignment and integration with external partners and legacy systems.
• Guide tenant strategy and deployment readiness for smooth production rollout.
