We are seeking an experienced Lead Workday HCM Systems Analyst to take a hands‑on role in the configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of the Workday platform. This individual will serve as a Workday SME, partnering closely with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Finance, and IT to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
This is a highly hands‑on position for someone who can own complex configuration and troubleshooting while also leading projects, driving enhancements, and providing technical guidance to other members of the HRIS team.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a hands‑on Workday SME across Core HCM, Business Processes, Security, Reporting, Compensation, Benefits, Talent/Performance, Time Tracking, and Absence
- Configure and optimize Workday business processes, approval workflows, condition rules, validations, notifications, and security
- Lead Workday enhancements and projects from requirements gathering and impact assessment through configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support
- Design and maintain advanced/custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields
- Maintain Workday security groups, domains, business process security, and appropriate access controls
- Support key HR cycles including performance reviews, compensation/merit cycles, benefits/open enrollment, and talent processes
- Partner with technical teams on integrations, EIBs, data loads, Core Connectors, Studio, APIs, and other integration points
- Lead Workday release testing, impact assessments, deployment, and adoption of new functionality
- Troubleshoot complex configuration, integration, security, and data issues and perform root-cause analysis
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve existing HR processes and the overall employee/manager experience
- Partner with HR and business stakeholders to develop scalable solutions while maintaining data integrity, compliance, and governance
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other Workday/HRIS team members
Qualifications
- 6+ years of hands‑on Workday/HRIS experience in a production environment
- Deep hands‑on expertise with Core HCM, Business Process configuration, Security, Reporting, and Calculated Fields
- Experience across several additional Workday modules such as Compensation, Benefits, Talent/Performance, Time Tracking, Absence, Recruiting, Learning, and/or Payroll
- Strong understanding of Workday integrations and data-loading tools, including EIBs and Core Connectors; Studio/API experience is a plus
- Experience supporting Workday releases, testing, enhancements, and complex HR initiatives
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex configuration and data issues
- Experience leading Workday projects/workstreams and mentoring or providing technical guidance to other analysts
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical Workday solutions
- Workday certifications are preferred
- Experience supporting a global or complex enterprise Workday environment is a plus
