Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College's Student Affairs division seeks student ambassadors to support fellow students and the community at the Westshore Campus. Ambassadors will greet, guide, and assist at information desks, campus tours, orientations, and events, and will help with recruitment and retention efforts.

Candidates must have completed at least 6 Tri-C credits with a 2.5 GPA, maintain full-time student status (at least 6 credits each term), pass background checks, and be able to work flexible

Qualifications

  • Have completed at least 6 credit hours at Tri-C and maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 and consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester.
  • Maintain confidentiality and pass background/drug screening.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and strong communication.
  • Assist with campus tours and events and support student success.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact at on-campus information desks.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and success of students and community members.
  • Represent the college at orientations, campus tours, and events.
  • Support students during peak periods and assist with My Tri-C Space.

Job Description
Learning Objectives
Ambassadors will grow and develop customer service skills by providing students and the general public community support and assistance. Ambassadors will also learn to understand student and community needs and provide professional assistance to students and the community in support of student success. They will develop relationships with new and continuing students at Tri-C while encouraging and supporting their success at Tri-C.
Ambassadors will further develop a professional work ethic while serving as the first level of contact with the community and students looking to Tri-C as their future school. They will also assist with monitoring and providing assistance to students, faculty/staff, and community members at the on-campus information desks. Students must have the ability to work within a team. They help in the recruitment, retention, and success, of future and prospective students. Ambassadors represent the college in various functions such as orientations, campus tours, school visits, community outreach, and other events. Must be able to work on campus.
  • Have completed at least 6 credit hours at Tri-C;
  • minimum GPA of 2.5;

  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends;
  • must demonstrate outstanding customer service, reliability, effective leadership skills, and strong communication skills;
  • provide support to students during peak periods:
  • assist students with My Tri-C Space;
  • provide campus tours;
  • assist with on and off campus events such as open houses, NSO, college fairs, high school visits;
  • must participate in leadership programs and attend student success workshops;
  • other duties as assigned.
