Job summary

Storable's Newbook Websites team is seeking a Software Engineer II to build WordPress-based customer websites that manage property listings, bookings, payments, and guest records. You will work primarily in WordPress and PHP, backed by MySQL, with modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS on the frontend; React is a plus for selected components.

The role emphasizes AI‑enabled development tools as a normal part of daily work, with focus on code quality, security, accessibility, and performance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, production WordPress experience including themes/plugins.
• Strong PHP and MySQL with modern JavaScript/HTML/CSS.
• Experience shipping software in production with reliability and security.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and improvements for the Newbook Websites product.
• Build and maintain WordPress themes, plugins, and integrations.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding and testing.
• Review AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.
• Implement reliable frontend with JavaScript, HTML, CSS; React where appropriate.
• Integrate WordPress with Newbook platform via REST APIs and webhooks.
• Collaborate with infra, product, design, and support teams to ship features.
• Write unit, integration, and functional tests; pursue performance and accessibility.
