Job summary

Storable is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Newbook Websites team and help build WordPress-based sites for RV parks, campgrounds, and other outdoor hospitality businesses. You will work primarily with WordPress, PHP and MySQL, with modern JavaScript, HTML and CSS on the frontend.

Qualifications

• Hands-on WordPress experience with custom themes/plugins, REST API and block editor.
• Strong PHP and MySQL with modern JavaScript/HTML/CSS on frontend.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of workflow.
• Proven ability to review AI-generated output for correctness, security and maintainability.
• Experience shipping production web applications in real-world environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and improvements for the Newbook Websites product, building and maintaining custom WordPress themes, plugins, and integrations.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, refactoring and documentation.
• Review AI-generated code for correctness, security, and alignment with WordPress architecture.
• Build reliable frontend experiences with modern JavaScript, HTML and CSS; React where appropriate.
• Integrate WordPress with the Newbook platform and third‑party services via REST APIs.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams on CI/CD and AWS deployment workflows.
• Refactor legacy code to reduce technical debt and improve performance.
• Ensure accessibility, SEO and security for customer-facing sites.
• Write and maintain unit, integration and functional tests.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to translate needs into reliable solutions.
