Job summary

Rockler in Salem, NH seeks a part-time customer service sales associate who delivers immediate, attentive service by demonstrating and selling woodworking supplies and tools. When not assisting customers, you will maintain the sales floor, facing displays, dusting and housekeeping.

The role emphasizes total solution selling, teamwork, and dependable attendance, with basic product knowledge and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of woodworking and hand tools required.
• Previous retail sales experience desirable.
• Ability to understand the nature of customers’ requests and respond appropriately.
• Extremely strong service orientation to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs; be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and acknowledge them as they enter the store.
• Assist with retail sales and ringing up purchases on the POS.
• Promote the 'Total solution' by suggesting related products and services.
• Assist with maintaining and merchandising neat, stocked displays and general housekeeping.
• Process refunds and complete documentation per procedures.
• Refer customers to other sources if items are unavailable to build goodwill.
• May assist with unloading trucks, pricing, merchandising, and other duties.
• Attendance is essential; be present for scheduled shifts.
