Job summary

Rockler in Tukwila, WA is seeking a part-time customer service sales associate who greets customers, explains product options, demonstrates usage, and helps close sales of woodworking supplies and tools.

When not assisting customers, you will maintain the sales floor, face products, dust, and ensure displays are neat and stocked. You must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as part of team lifting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school graduate or GED.
• Knowledge of woodworking and hand tools required.
• Previous retail sales experience desirable.
• Ability to understand the nature of customers’ requests and respond accordingly.
• Ability to authorize returns or refunds when appropriate.
• Extremely strong service orientation to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Team player, outgoing, approachable, and congenial with customers and associates.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs; participate in team lifting.
• Takes initiative; excellent team player.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter the store in a timely manner and acknowledge all customers.
• Handle all aspects of retail sales, answer questions on product use, and ring sales on POS.
• Emphasize the “Total solution” by showing related products/services the customer might need.
• Maintain the store by facing, dusting, and keeping displays neat and stocked.
• Handle refunds and prepare documentation per procedures.
• Refer customers to other sources if an item is unavailable to build goodwill.
• May assist with unloading trucks, pricing, merchandising, or other duties.
• Attendance is essential and employees must be present for scheduled shifts.
