• Confident in color matching and comfortable teaching customers on shop floor processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and schedule time spent in field and lab.
• Communicate product performance, customer needs, and issues to the lab and sales team.
• Coordinate with the lab on formula adjustments and coating performance requirements.
• Qualify coating modifications and verify parameters through testing in field and lab.
• Provide training and education on applications and coating performance to customers.
• Maintain documentation and procedures for all customer products used in the field.

Wood Coatings TS Rep - TEXAS - HOME BASED

Bring your wood coatings application experience to the NEXT LEVEL! This work from HOME role would leverage your shop floor experiences applying coatings to wood, and if you are SPANISH speaking? HUGE PLUS! This company retains it’s employees, the role is open due to retirement.

The Technical Service Rep will work in conjunction with the sales force and lab, supporting plant implementations, training, troubleshooting, color matching, customer product performance requirements, documentation, and account maintenance (on designated accounts).

This function is to allow the sales rep to manage the accounts & allow for additional opportunities and to accelerate the sales and implementation cycles. The involvement of the technician in an account will be justified by the sales representative and the technician, with final approval coming from the Technical Services Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, organize, and set up the daily, weekly & monthly schedule for his/her time spent in the field and lab.
• Communicate clearly, immediate concerns or issues pertaining to product performance, products or customers’ needs.
• Communicate clearly with the lab, through documentation, product development needs and coating performance requirements.
• Qualify coating modifications and product developments, working in the lab when necessary to verify through application and proper physical test requirements that coating parameters are met.
• Ability to communicate clearly on all applications and coating performance for training and education purposes.
• Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by management.

Salary

$70,000 - $100,000 + Bonus

EXPERIENCE:

Education / Experience:

• A four-year college degree of 5 years of experience in the Coatings and application-related field is required.
• Able to travel 50-60%, regionally and out of town, overnight.
• Bilingual in Spanish Wood Coatings Spray Technician with at least 5 years of wood coatings applications experience with Water Based, Solvent Based, and UV curables.
• Confident, good color matching skills, comfortable teaching and training customer shop floor employees.

EXPECTATIONS:

• This position will work with the sales force and be responsible for documentation and communications to ensure that both the company & our customers’ expectations and timeline requirements are being met.
• Set up document procedures and maintain files on all customers for all of the products utilized in the field by customers, STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES.
• Communicate in writing with the Lab on all formula adjustments made in the field to ensure product stability and film integrity standards are met.
• Listen to team members & customers’ needs about product & time frames.
• Possess a high work ethic, moral and personal integrity, and honesty.
• Be mature, flexible, and self-motivated.
• Exemplify professionalism in personal appearance, manner, and dress according to acceptable standards set by the company.
