Job summary

Babson College is seeking an Assistant Coach in the Department of Athletics and Recreation. This exempt role includes coaching, mentoring, and coordinating with key campus departments to support student-athlete success.

A bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years of coaching experience are required, with safety certifications to be obtained within 3 months. The position offers benefits, a competitive salary, and eligibility for performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and NCAA/NCAA rules knowledge preferred.
• 1–3 years of coaching experience required.
• CPR/First Aid/AED and concussion recognition training are required or must be obtained within 3 months.
• Blood Borne Pathogen training with yearly refreshers is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Commitment to inclusion and serving a diverse student body.
• Ability to adapt to campus safety and driving/vehicle requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with head coach on program management and strategic plan execution.
• Assist in planning and coaching practice sessions and games; teach advanced skills.
• Counsel students and refer to student support resources as needed.
• Monitor academic progress of student athletes; mentor on academic/non-academic issues.
• Develop liaison with Health Services, Residential Education, Student Activities, and related departments.
• Assist in scouting opponents and preparing for practices and evaluations.
• Assist in recruitment of student athletes including outreach and travel for recruiting.
• Take on additional administrative responsibilities as assigned.
