Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for outpatient OB/GYN services in Racine & Greater Milwaukee. This PRN role features 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), no weekends, and no call responsibilities in a busy, collaborative clinic.

You will diagnose and treat a diverse patient population, obtain histories, order tests, provide preventive care, and coordinate with physicians to expand primary healthcare services.

Qualifications

• Must hold Wisconsin NP credential and RN license prior to hire date.
• Master's degree in Nursing is required.
• BLS Provider certification preferred; DEA credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to provide primary healthcare services.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions in OB/GYN care.
• Obtain histories, perform exams, and order diagnostic tests.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate referrals.
• Provide preventive care, immunizations, and counseling.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR.

Location: Racine & Greater Milwaukee

Facility Name: All Saints, Franklin, Elmbrook, St. Joe's, St. Francis, N. 117th, Tosa (float to multiple locations)

Schedule: PRN

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Setting: Outpatient OB/GYN clinic
• Schedule: PRN: 8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Weekends: No weekends
• Call: No call responsibilities
• Extended Hours: No evenings or extended clinic hours
• Patient Volume: Approximately 18–25 patients per day
• Appointment Length: 15- and 30-minute appointments
• Practice Pace: Very fast-paced and busy
• Patient Population: Unique and diverse patient population
• Patient Mix: Strong combination of OB and GYN care
• Practice Environment: Busy, collaborative outpatient clinic with a varied patient population
• Collaborate with physicians to expand individualized primary healthcare services.
• Diagnose and treat a variety of acute and chronic health conditions.
• Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform assessments through observation, interviews, and physical examinations.
• Order, perform, and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies and laboratory testing.
• Provide preventive healthcare services, including:
  • Health assessments and screenings
  • Immunizations
  • Preventive counseling
  • Ongoing patient care and health maintenance
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including appropriate referrals to healthcare providers and community resources.
• Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers regarding:
  • Preventive health and wellness
  • Treatment options
  • Disease management
  • Available community resources
• Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and nursing processes in accordance with specialty-specific standards and network nursing policies.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Education

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
