Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting is seeking a Technical Designer in New York, NY to join a growing apparel team. The role focuses on turning concepts into production-ready tech packs, ensuring accurate measurements, grading, BOMs and construction details across womenswear.

You will collaborate with Design, Product Development and Production teams to maintain fit, quality and brand standards throughout the development cycle. A strong attention to detail and cross-functional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of technical design experience in apparel.
• Experience with women’s apparel; outerwear and/or activewear preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and CAD software; strong construction knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical packs, including sketches, measurements, grading, construction details and specs.
• Create and manage BOMs, packaging requirements, care labels, carton markings and related documentation.
• Conduct and participate in fit sessions using live models.
• Review prototypes, fit samples, and pre-production garments with pattern makers and manufacturers.
• Ensure samples meet standards for fit, quality, construction and design intent.
