Job summary

Markent Personnel, Inc. is assisting a client in New York City to hire a Technical Designer to take concepts through production. The role focuses on developing detailed tech packs, garment construction, fit sessions, and cross-functional collaboration to uphold quality, fit, and brand standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, meticulous attention to detail, and hands-on experience with women's apparel, CAD software, and grading. This position is on-site in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of Technical Design experience within apparel.
• Experience with women's apparel; outerwear/activewear preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and fit evaluation.
• Excellent attention to detail and measurement accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed tech packs with sketches, measurements, grading, and construction details.
• Create and manage BOMs, packaging, care labels, carton markings, and UPCs.
• Conduct and participate in fit sessions using live models.
• Review prototypes and pre-production garments with pattern makers and manufacturers.
• Ensure samples meet standards for fit, quality, and design intent.
• Identify construction challenges and provide practical solutions.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Production, and vendors to ensure on-time delivery.
• Maintain brand consistency and quality across products.
