Job summary

The Wok Cook position at HMSHost in Honolulu is responsible for preparing all wok‑cooked items and setting up the wok station for each shift. You will support a team environment, communicate issues to the manager on duty, and deliver high-quality service to customers and staff.

This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Store Manager or Operations Director depending on local requirements. Essential duties include following recipes, calculating quantities, operating kitchen equipment,

Qualifications

• 6 months wok cooking experience or 9 months sauté in high volume casual dining kitchen
• Knowledge of HACCP standards
• Ability to read and understand instructions and policies
• Ability to work in varied kitchen temperatures including hot environments
• Ability to stand and/or walk up to nine hours
• Ability to handle a knife
• Ability to read recipes and prep lists
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and cook wok items with urgency while maintaining quality and presentation
• Estimate food requirements and keep production records
• Perform basic math and measurement calculations for recipes
• Operate kitchen equipment and use knife safely
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work stations
• Adhere to HACCP standards and safety policies
• Stock, date, rotate, and check product temperatures
• Report issues to manager on duty and support team in daily operations
