Job summary

HMSHost is seeking a Wok Cook to prepare all wok‑cooked items and set up wok stations for the Pei Wei concept across shifts. The role supports a collaborative team, communicates issues to on‑duty management, and delivers high‑level customer service. Reports to Store Manager or Operations Director per local requirements.

This is a non‑exempt position with a focus on speed, accuracy and safety in a fast‑paced casual dining setting. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Wok-cooking experience to order, ability to manage two woks.
• Food prep skills and HACCP knowledge.
• Ability to read and understand orders, policies, and instructions.
• Able to work in warm kitchen environments and follow safety practices.
• Able to wok-cook, stand and walk up to nine hours.
• Must handle knives safely and maintain product quality.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and wok-cooking techniques to prepare menu items with speed and accuracy.
• Tastes, plans portions, and ensures adequate supplies before service.
• Performs basic math for measurements and requisitions.
• Operates kitchen equipment and uses cut gloves when handling knives.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation, monitors product freshness.
• Cleans work stations and adheres to HACCP standards and franchise policies.
• Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperatures of products.
