Job summary

FedEx Supply Chain, Inc. is seeking an Advisor, Software Developer -- IIB to lead and execute software development tasks in a team setting. The role focuses on systems thinking, prototyping, and delivering new business capabilities while mentoring less senior developers.

Key responsibilities include integrating Sterling WMS components, debugging complex software, and ensuring adherence to the SDLC. Strong Java/JSP/XML/HTML/JavaScript skills and Oracle SQL/PLSQL are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8 years of relevant experience in software development and integration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of Java (1.4+), JSP, XML, HTML, JavaScript.
• Oracle 9+; SQL and PL/SQL development experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
• Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
• Customer-focused and able to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, configure, and support Sterling WMS components and data flows.
• Analyze WMS issues and perform root-cause analysis for continuity.
• Encode, test, debug, and document complex software programs.
• Review and modify core software; troubleshoot as needed.
• Provide technical support and respond to customer inquiries.
• Follow SDLC standards and mentor junior developers.
• Design, develop, test, and support apps using MQ, IIB, ESB, REST/SOAP.
• Prepare prototypes and technical specifications for concepts.
• Configure interfaces and generate data-related files.
• Analyze data, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve defects.
• Communicate requirements with end-users and stakeholders.
• Develop test plans and ensure thorough documentation.
• Lead peer reviews and coach team members.
• Create basic queries for production support and reporting.
• Provide after-hours or on-call support, including weekends.
