Job summary

Wakefern Food Corp. is seeking a hands-on application engineer with experience in warehouse management and supply chain systems.

Translate operational problems into scalable applications using Node.js, Java, Python, and related technologies, with a focus on AI-enabled capabilities to automate workflows and support operational decisions. You will lead work from discovery and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and production support, collaborating with warehousing,

Qualifications

• 8+ years in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain apps.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with REST APIs, event-driven interfaces, or real-time processing.
• WMS processes include receiving, putaway, replenishment, inventory, picking, packing, shipping.
• AI concepts including generative AI, retrieval-based solutions, and automation.
• Ability to decompose ambiguous problems and deliver maintainable solutions.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Self-starter with clear communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with warehouse, distribution, and supply chain teams to translate problems into tech requirements.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support apps, services, APIs, integrations, and automation.
• Own solutions through full SDLC including architecture, testing, release, and documentation.
• Build integrations among WMS, ERP, order management, transportation, and inventory systems.
• Identify bottlenecks and automate to improve throughput, accuracy, and reliability.
• Evaluate AI capabilities for exception analysis and workflow automation.
• Ensure data quality, security, privacy, and traceability for AI-enabled solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues across applications, interfaces, and data layers.
