Job summary

State of Michigan MDOT is filling several limited-term Transportation Maintenance Worker positions across the Eaton, Ingham, and Livingston counties. These full-time roles run Nov through April with no guaranteed duration.

Responsibilities include maintaining state trunk lines, winter maintenance, operating heavy equipment, and traveling to assigned sites. Applicants must have at least a high school diploma, and a CDL is required at hire.

Qualifications

• Education typically acquired through completion of high school.
• Two years of experience equivalent to a Transportation Maintenance Worker 7; or one year of skilled trades experience at the E9 level.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of State trunk lines within the right of way and perform winter maintenance activities.
• Operate a vehicle or vehicle/trailer combination with GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more during maintenance tasks.
• Travel to assigned work areas and participate in the Transportation Maintenance Worker (TMW) work element program.
