Job summary

State of Michigan’s MDOT is seeking staff for limited-term winter maintenance roles across Lenawee and Monroe counties. Positions are full-time during the November–April window, with duties including surface and roadside maintenance, winter clearing, and operating heavy equipment.

Applicants must have a high school diploma; CDL is required by hire. Training and certification for TMW work elements may be needed.

Qualifications

• Education typically acquired through completion of high school.
• No specific experience required for entry level TMW 6.
• Two years experience for TMW E8 level; one year for TMW 7; one year of skilled trades at E9 level.

Responsibilities

• Maintain state trunk lines within the right-of-way and perform winter maintenance.
• Operate vehicles (GVWR 26,001+ lbs) and equipment.
• Participate in team work groups and follow MDOT TMW training.
• Possess CDL at time of hire and comply with safety requirements.
