Job summary

The State of Michigan is hiring Transportation Maintenance Worker positions in the Superior Region for a limited-term assignment from October to April. Responsibilities include maintaining state trunk lines and structures, road shoulders, and performing winter maintenance; operation of heavy equipment; and participation in the TMW program.

Overnight travel and variable shifts are required. Applicants must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at hire.

Qualifications

• Education typically acquired through completion of high school or equivalent.
• Two years of experience for E8 level; one year for 7; no specific type/amount of experience required for 6.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of state trunk lines, structures, and right-of-ways in the Superior Region.
• Operate vehicles/equipment including GVWR 26,001+ lbs; participate in TMW work element program.
• Must be able to travel overnight to work sites and handle varying shift schedules.
