Job summary

The State of Michigan's MDOT is filling several limited-term winter maintenance positions in the Superior Region. These roles require travel to multiple work sites with overnight travel, possible afternoon, night, and weekend shifts, and may last October through April with no guaranteed extension.

Positions perform maintenance on state trunk lines, structures, and right-of-ways, operate various equipment, and participate in the Transportation Maintenance Worker program. CDL is required at hire.

Qualifications

• Education typically acquired through completion of high school.
• CDL required at the time of hire.
• No specific type or amount of experience is required; several TMW levels (6/7/E8) may apply depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain state trunk lines, structures, and right-of-ways in the Superior Region.
• Operate equipment and participate in the Transportation Maintenance Worker program; travel to work sites with possible overnight stays and varied shifts.
