Job summary

State of Michigan is hiring a Transportation Maintenance Worker to perform routine maintenance on state trunk lines, including asphalt, roadside and winter operations, across the region. The role requires operating heavy vehicles (GVWR 26,001+ lbs) and collaborating in team-based maintenance efforts, with overnight travel possible.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
• Experience requirements include progression from Transportation Maintenance Worker 6/7 to E8 with roadway and related maintenance duties.
• Willingness to travel overnight and work varied shifts including afternoons, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain state trunk lines and perform surface, roadside, and winter maintenance within the region.
• Operate vehicles and equipment (GVWR 26,001+ lbs) and participate in team work groups.
• Travel to multiple work sites within the region and participate in TMW work element program.
