Job summary

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking multiple non-permanent Highway Maintenance Worker positions for the North Central Region Area 1, including Stevens Pass, Leavenworth, Chelan, Wenatchee, and nearby locations, to perform winter maintenance tasks.

Work outdoors, 40 hours weekly across 10-hour shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays may be required. A valid Class B CDL with N endorsement and safety certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience performing routine and emergency highway maintenance.
• Valid Class B CDL with N endorsement and without airbrake.
• Ability to operate snow removal equipment and heavy vehicles.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies.
• Proficiency with timekeeping and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplows and deicing equipment.
• Repair pavements, drainage, and culverts.
• Maintain highway assets and roadside features.
• Provide traffic control and flagging as needed.
• Document daily work and manage inventory.
