Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Eastern Region is seeking to fill multiple non-permanent Highway Maintenance Worker positions for the winter maintenance season in the Spokane, Colfax, Davenport and Colville areas. Responsibilities include operating snow removal equipment, performing road repairs, and providing traffic control to protect the public and crews.

Positions are non-permanent, 40-hour work weeks, with day/night shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Licensing and Endorsements: Valid Class B or Class A CDL without air brake restriction.
• Highway maintenance: experience in highway maintenance, road construction, or related work.
• Equipment operation: ability to operate, inspect, and maintain maintenance equipment and hand/power tools.
• Traffic control and emergency response: plan and maintain traffic control per MUTCD standards and respond to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment for snow and ice control and road maintenance.
• Perform asphalt, concrete pavement repair and maintenance.
• Maintain roadside drainage, guardrails, signs and landscaping.
• Provide traffic control during maintenance and emergency responses.
