Job summary

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking two Highway Maintenance Workers to support the safe, reliable operation of Washington’s transportation system. These journey-level roles perform skilled maintenance on highways, bridges, and related infrastructure.

Expect outdoor work, physical tasks, and a schedule of Monday–Friday, 40 hours with potential nights/weekends. CDL, DOT medical card, and safety certifications are required or obtainable; strong teamwork and safety

Responsibilities

Perform traffic control operations per WSDOT standards and safety policies.
Maintain and repair pavement, guardrails, drainage, signs, fences, bridges, and roadway features.
Remove debris and obstructions from roadways.
Install and maintain highway pavement markings.
Operate Class A, B and C CDL equipment.
Perform snow and ice control and haul maintenance materials.
Provide general labor and equipment support to maintenance crews.
Maintain and perform minor repairs on vehicles, equipment, and tools.
Complete required reports, safety meetings, and training.
