Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation in Ohio is hiring multiple Winter Seasonal Highway Technicians for District 7. Positions are temporary up to 1,000 hours and cover several counties including Greene, Montgomery, and Clark.

The job includes snow and ice control, equipment maintenance, and public service duties. Applicants must have a Class A/B CDL with tanker endorsement (no air brake restriction) or equivalent qualifications.

Qualifications

• Formal arithmetic education including addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages and fractions.
• 3 months training or 3 months experience operating basic equipment.
• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement and no air brake restrictions at the appropriate level.
• Or equivalent of minimum Class Qualifications for Employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic equipment for snow and ice removal and roadway maintenance; perform fleet readiness inspections and wash equipment.
• Conduct emergency response, cleanup, and traffic control.
• Perform general facilities maintenance and assist the public to keep Ohio roads safer.
