Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 seeks Winter Seasonal Highway Technicians for Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Shelby counties. Positions are temporary (not to exceed 1,000 hours) with a CDL and tanker endorsement (no airbrake restrictions).

The role includes snow/ice control, road maintenance, and traffic control, serving the public to keep Ohio roads safe. Multiple positions are available for 2026-27 winter season.

Qualifications

• Highway maintenance duties varying by season (snow/ice control; cleaning, repairs).
• Operate basic equipment and perform inspections and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment for snow/ice removal and roadway maintenance.
• Perform emergency response, cleanup, and traffic control.
