Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation District 11 is hiring Winter Seasonal CDL Driver/Highway Technician in Tuscarawas and surrounding counties. The role includes hands-on traffic control, pothole patching, guardrail repairs and snow/ice operations. CDL required; heavy equipment experience preferred.

Full-time schedule with OCSEA union benefits and outdoor work environment. Primary location is District 11 Garage in New Philadelphia, OH, with opportunities in Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison,

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction and decimals; ability to read, write and speak common English vocabulary.
• 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License at the appropriate level to operate motorized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on maintenance of traffic control and flagging.
• Highway maintenance and repair work (pothole patching, berms, guardrails, crack seal, litter pickup, drainage, vegetation management).
• Operate heavy equipment (dump trucks, loaders) and hand tools (chainsaws).
• Perform snow and ice operations.
