Job summary

Empire Merchants, a premier distributor of fine wines and spirits serving more than 10,000 NY Metro area restaurants, hotels, clubs and retail outlets, seeks an extraordinary Field Sales Manager to drive sales volume and distribution. You will coach a team of sales representatives to meet goals through planning, training, and execution.

Qualifications include a minimum of 5 years in sales with a background in wine/spirits; WSET preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience.
• Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle preferred.
• Minimum 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Understanding of wine and spirits; WSET certification (I, II, III) preferred.
• Experience in spirits and wine sales management preferred.
• Strong verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and related software.

Responsibilities

• Pre-plans and strategizes with each sales representative to achieve goals.
• Develops and reviews performance improvement plans for reps.
• Addresses skill deficiencies with customized coaching plans.
• Maintains relationships with key accounts and resolves issues.
• Participates in interview and onboarding processes with HR.
• Coordinates supplier ride-alongs and surveys with sales reps.
• Ensures training programs are completed and industry knowledge updated.
• Maintains confidentiality and safety in operations.
