Job summary

Placements24 seeks candidates for a Sommelier Apprenticeship in Paarl, offering hands-on training in wine production, tasting, service, and pairing. You will be mentored by experienced sommeliers and gain exposure to renowned estates and hospitality venues in the Cape Winelands.

Participants will develop deep wine knowledge, practical cellar management, and tasting skills while working alongside industry leaders in a prestigious global wine and hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• A passion for wine, food, and hospitality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and a commitment to continuous study.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in wine cellar management and inventory tracking.
• Learn to conduct wine tastings and evaluate wine quality.
• Develop expertise in various grape varietals and wine regions globally.
• Support the service of wine to guests in a fine dining environment.
• Assist in creating wine lists and pairing recommendations.
