Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage Information Technology Department seeks a Systems Management Engineer to ensure stable, secure, and efficient operation of in-house information systems supporting core municipal functions.

The role involves monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing Windows servers and clients, while applying strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills to resolve issues and maximize IT investments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent with 8 years of related experience.
• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related discipline with 6 years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related discipline with 4 years of related experience.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related discipline with 2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions.
• Monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all Microsoft Windows clients, servers, and associated operating systems.
• Manage the operation and configuration of system tools for the management of the Microsoft infrastructure.
