Job summary

UAB Medicine Health System Information Services (HSIS) seeks a Server Administrator to ensure stability, performance, and integrity of all health system server services. You will manage hosts, VMs, storage, authentication, and backups while improving processes and documenting configurations.

The role emphasizes incident response, system monitoring, and collaboration with business units to keep critical clinical and enterprise applications available 24/7.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Information Systems or related field and 4 years of related experience required.
• Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
• Preferred: expertise in Active Directory, VMware, Citrix or Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, operate, and maintain systems hardware and software.
• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Respond to outages and follow disaster recovery plans.
• Document server configurations and procedures for knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate with business units and manage tickets in the enterprise system.
• Maintain Windows Server builds and AD, DNS, DHCP services.
