Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a Systems Administrator II to maintain and optimize our Health System server infrastructure, including Windows Server, AD, and storage environments. You will implement, monitor, and support server hardware, software, and networks to ensure high availability for clinical and business applications.

The role emphasizes Troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with HSIS and clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field and four (4) years of related experience required.
• Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
• Certifications: MCSA

Responsibilities

• Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure
• Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
• Coordinate and communicate with impacted business units
• Manage workflow using an enterprise ticketing system
• Windows Server Build and Administration
• Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure
• Respond to emergency server outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
