Job summary

BCore in Herndon, VA is seeking a Windows Automation & Patching Engineer to lead patching and automation across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will implement PowerShell and Python workflows, manage WSUS and SCCM, and ensure STIG/compliance across enclaves.

You will collaborate with security and IT teams to modernize patching infrastructure, support hybrid deployments, and deliver resilient, automated updates that minimize disruption.

Qualifications

• Advanced PowerShell scripting experience.
• Experience with WSUS across enclaves and offline systems.
• Familiarity with cloud patching tools (Azure Update Management, AWS SSM).
• Familiarity with SCCM/ConfigMgr or similar enterprise patching tools.
• Experience with virtualization infrastructure (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Experience with major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI).

Responsibilities

• Manage and automate patch deployment across domains and enclaves.
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, APIs, or orchestration frameworks.
• Support hybrid and cloud patching with Azure Update Management, AWS SSM, and SCCM.
• Engineer improvements to patching infrastructure and automated update systems.
• Perform automation-driven server configuration, baseline enforcement, and STIG remediation.
• Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for Windows systems.
• Migrate/refactor workloads for cloud compatibility and virtualization strategies.
• Monitor performance and implement automated remediation with minimal user impact.
