Job summary

BCore seeks a Windows Automation & Patching Engineer in Herndon, VA, to design and implement automated patching across on-premises and cloud environments. The role focuses on deploying and automating patching processes, configuration management, and enforcing security baselines in a complex enclave setup.

Ideal candidates will have strong PowerShell scripting, experience with WSUS, SCCM/ConfigMgr, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V). Cloud provider familiarity (Azure/GCP/OCI) is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Advanced PowerShell scripting is required.
• Experience with WSUS across multiple enclaves and in offline/air-gapped systems.
• Familiarity with cloud patching tools (Azure Update Management, AWS SSM) and SCCM/ConfigMgr or similar tools.
• Experience with vulnerability remediation automation and STIG compliance workflows.
• Virtualization infrastructure experience (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with major cloud providers (Azure, GCP, OCI).

Responsibilities

• Manage and automate patch deployment and configuration management across domains and enclaves.
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, APIs, or orchestration frameworks.
• Support hybrid and cloud patching using Azure Update Management, AWS SSM, and SCCM/ConfigMgr.
• Engineer improvements to patching infrastructure and automated update distribution.
• Perform automation-driven server configuration, baseline enforcement, and compliance reporting.
• Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for Windows systems.
