Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Wind Technician to maintain turbine operations and safety at wind sites, performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs while coordinating with site leadership to meet contract requirements.

The role requires hands-on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills, with tower climbing, rotating shifts, and on-call duties as needed. Travel within hub and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ year experience as Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic or completed Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, or 2 years electrical work experience.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Able to handle repetitive weight up to 50 lbs and climb towers up to 300 feet daily.
• Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300 lbs including required gear.

Responsibilities

• Work with site & hub leadership to execute contractual obligations and daily activities on turbine equipment.
• Perform maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on turbines.
• Assist site operations with safety and compliance under supervision.
• Document all work using service reporting procedures.
