Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to manage onsite operations, maintenance, and repairs at the Dana, IL wind plant. This role leads in plant operations under the Plant Manager and ensures safe, reliable power delivery.

Ideal candidates will have wind industry training or experience, the ability to climb towers up to 100 meters, and a readiness to travel about 10–15% to support multiple sites. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities await.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related wind industry experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment such as voltage tests, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily to access nacelles and hubs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with pitch and speed control systems.
• Repair or replace faulty mechanical/electrical components per OEM specs.
• Follow environmental health and safety programs and maintain documentation.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals and support construction walk-downs when needed.
