Job summary

Nordex Group is seeking a Service Technician I in Rio Hondo, TX to help ensure safe and efficient operation of wind turbine generators. You will perform routine maintenance, basic repairs, and support service tickets while collaborating with field and back-office teams to maximize turbine availability.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 0–2 years in wind energy or related fields, with experience using hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical, wind energy, or engineering education preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in wind energy, industrial maintenance, mechanical, electrical, construction, or a related field.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine wind turbine maintenance and basic repairs following established procedures.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues under the guidance of experienced technicians.
• Complete maintenance reports, track work activities, and manage service tickets.
• Support inventory and material management, including receiving, organizing, and tracking parts and tools.
• Prepare tools, materials, and documentation needed for scheduled work.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE inspections, toolbox talks, vehicle inspections, and incident reporting.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and turbine performance.
• Work closely with team members and support additional site operations as needed.
