Job summary

Nordex North America is seeking a Service Technician I to help operate and maintain wind turbine generators safely and efficiently at our U.S. wind facilities. You will perform routine maintenance, assist with repairs, and document activities to support high service availability and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical, wind energy, or engineering education preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in wind energy, industrial maintenance, mechanical, electrical, construction, or related fields.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Comfortable working at heights up to 300 feet and climbing wind turbine towers daily.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds in physically demanding environments.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and confined spaces.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedule.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Ability to obtain U.S. Passport and travel up to 10% for training or site support.
• Ability to obtain and maintain safety certifications including medium/high-voltage equipment.
• Must meet OSHA/ANSI weight requirements (265 lbs. or less) and pass pre-employment physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine wind turbine maintenance and basic repairs following established procedures.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues under guidance of experienced technicians.
• Complete maintenance reports, track work activities, and manage service tickets.
• Support inventory and material management, including receiving, organizing, and tracking parts and tools.
• Prepare tools, materials, and documentation needed for scheduled work.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE inspections, toolbox talks, vehicle inspections, and incident reporting.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and turbine performance.
• Work closely with team members and support additional site operations as needed.
